Hello, it is nice to meet you

This is a short story about me:
I am fun, but determined and responsible - a fun brainiac you might say. I love to travel. I am zen, but not too much. Artistic, but with both feet on the ground.
I was born in Serbia from a Serbian father and Venezuelan mother. For the first seven years of my life I lived in Serbia, Russia and Venezuela. That's how my traveling and moving germ was planted, I guess...
I grew up in Belgrade with my grandparents, both doctors. This is where my love and fascination for the human body comes from. Since I am terribly scared of blood, I had to disappoint them both, and not follow their path, but instead I appreciated and studied the human body through my pencil and brush, completing five years of art university.
When I was thirty years old, I moved to Canada, the country that became home. Canada also gave me the opportunity to learn about the body through massage therapy which introduced the holistic approach to body and soul. During that period I stumbled upon a program where parents are taught how to massage their babies - The International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM). I was enchanted! I became a Certified Instructor of Infant Massage (CIMI) and set a personal mission and goal to bring the program to my native country of Serbia. In 2015 I formed the Serbian Chapter of the IAIM with the help and support of a few amazing women. I still serve proudly as an active member of the Board of Directors and the International Chapter Representative.
I married Mark and moved to the Bay Area, CA in 2015.

Expanding my passion to work with infants and their parents, I became a Musical Baby Bonding™ instructor in 2017 and a Newborn Behavioral Observation (NBO) practitioner in 2021.
In 2022 I received the PMH-C (Perinatal Mental Health Certification) form Postpartum Support International which opened a whole new layer of interaction and relationship with the parents in my classes. As a complement to my work, I am passionate about being in the business of slowing down and bringing mindfulness into people’s lives. In 2018 I was trained as a Yoga Instructor and in 2019 as a Prenatal Yoga Teacher. Currently I am in the process of becoming a Infant Massage International Trainer with the International Association of Infant Massage. |
